Reading and Writing

Students will be writing different genre pieces throughout the year. Students will also be working on the writing process and how to develop an essay.
Students will also be reading a variety of short stories, novels, and poems throughout the year. The beginning of the year will consist of fictional pieces, we will jump to nonfiction after Christmas, and then we will close out the year with Historical fiction and poetry.

7th Grade Grammar/Vocab.

Students will be focusing on a unit for two weeks before being tested on the meaning of the words.
Students will also be working on grammar for two to three weeks before being tested on a specific chapter.
